Konstantinos Karakatsanis
Security Research Engineer
I am a Security Research Engineer at the Athens University of Economics and Business. My research lies at the intersection of software/firmware security and software engineering, with a focus on program analysis, reverse engineering, and vulnerability detection.
Currently, I work on the SecOPERA project, where I develop practical tools for code debloating to improve software maintainability and reduce security risks. Previously, at Georgia Tech, I led research projects in firmware reverse engineering and email security, worked on malware analysis projects, and served as the instructor for the Introduction to Computer Security class.
I hold an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech and a B.S. in Management Science and Technology from the Athens University of Economics and Business. I specialize in designing and implementing program analysis–based tools to identify security vulnerabilities and developing large-scale systems for data collection and analysis.
